A simple truth
Found supple youth,
To heal the bruise:
Everyone gets a scar.
Days of skinned knees
Have come and gone,
Oh please,
I just got one in my thirties.
Just when I thought
I could feel the breeze,
I fell with a thud
Like all the tall trees.
Same as before
Go and wash with water.
Like a sin to my skin,
It’s getting hotter.
Time tucked away
Takes a look.
Just a moment to say
From a babbling brook
Making life giving waters,
Will forever supply?
Static chatter matters;
There’s no reason to cry.
I re-wash
By the cloth
From the Holy Father.
What grows under scabs?
The will to win
With some new fodder.
Yes my kids will wander.
May even get burned
Earn the seed
And the need
Life will feed
From all the same waters too.
