It’s what happens when we roll together,
All the way til 9pm,
All day long we’ll be fine,
But something always makes us end.
When the sun goes down,
All the frowns in my head
Lead to clowns in the bed
I’ll end up with a sense that
You tend to lay flat
When we’re up to our backs.
No way out,
When this feeling lacks;
It’s got both of us reeling.
A gash in our belly
From the hell that’s been welling
Up history of us
Cause all in an uproar
We once used to soar,
But the night has worn holes in the oar,
And our ship’s run ashore.
Our ship on this dark night
Leaves a slight hint in the fog.
And at dusk what was right
Blew apart and we’re left
Holding on to a floating log.
Can we find a way back to solid ground?
All that’s left from a moment in the lost and found.
That ring that was meant to make you sing,
Makes a lingering pain,
Knowing all I bring,
Freezing my brain to feel
Left in the rain.
How can we get back?
On track,
On the same path.
Giving no reason to look back.
What’s left on the road before me,
Just lonely eyes, and black skies.
I hope the stars lead closer to you,
Better yet, send me all the way.
But what can we say,
Out on the open ocean
When our ship’s just driftin’?
