[morning to evening] they can scream about you’re the one i care about they can look at me you’re the one i dream about [night to dawn] love you like a cloud hearts we never found this ship is going to sink disappearing ink go to sleep with you as castles drift to space my lungs begin to flood i give into the sea
2.
[dawn] sun erasing drunken stars from the sky clean slate open your eyes morning unfolding in the landscape of your mind [day] take your name downtown leave your tracks till sundown we all carry grief in life we all hide a thief inside by chance the human race creation stories in the cradle space by chance here with you do you love me like love you? [dusk] I won't take no time to rest there's the country of our lives to walk in I won't take no time to rest there's the country of our lives to walk in

i woke up with the sunrise and rubbed my tired eyes but then to my surprise when i heard the lamentation i knew that you had died the sun went down over evansville the light has left your window sill and your floor the shadows grow out on the oak hill i feel 'em growin' inside me still there's almost no consolation had to watch your slow decline but there were some good times you couldn't have had more patience as you watched the world go blind the sun went down over evansville can't see your walls your furniture or your doors the light is gone from the oak hill you'll never see another sunrise anymore over evansville i've seen you rise and fall in your time over evansville i've seen you rise and fall in my memory of evansville i see you rise and fall i see you still

The sun comes up, my eyes go down I never should have gotten on that bus My guard is down, the stars are out And all around the thought just never stops It never stops So tell me, tell me honey How you gonna want it to end? How do you see with your head stuck under the sand? Tell me where to swim, 'cuz I cannot see land The world is full of something I can't comprehend You get inside my head The car alarm can wake us up You showed me thoughts I can't recall I can't recall Tell me, tell me honey Is it so fucked up? Why we gotta act like this is some big secret? Tell me, tell me honey cuz I cannot stay put I can see it in your eyes that you're just faking out You get inside my head So tell me, tell me honey How you gonna want it to end?

It’s what happens when we roll together, All the way til 9pm, All day long we’ll be fine, But something always makes us end. When the sun goes down, All the frowns in my head Lead to clowns in the bed I’ll end up with a sense that You tend to lay flat When we’re up to our backs. No way out, When this feeling lacks; It’s got both of us reeling. A gash in our belly From the hell that’s been welling Up history of us Cause all in an uproar We once used to soar, But the night has worn holes in the oar, And our ship’s run ashore. Our ship on this dark night Leaves a slight hint in the fog. And at dusk what was right Blew apart and we’re left Holding on to a floating log. Can we find a way back to solid ground? All that’s left from a moment in the lost and found. That ring that was meant to make you sing, Makes a lingering pain, Knowing all I bring, Freezing my brain to feel Left in the rain. How can we get back? On track, On the same path. Giving no reason to look back. What’s left on the road before me, Just lonely eyes, and black skies. I hope the stars lead closer to you, Better yet, send me all the way. But what can we say, Out on the open ocean When our ship’s just driftin’?

open up the shades again, the sun is late again i've run out of coffee don't know what time it is, the phone it rings again but that's not gonna stop me i don't know myself put on pants get out the door into the gray another train and i missed it sleeping in the afternoon, albeit not by choice we should be sleeping forever i can't seem to stay awake these words come out, they'll have to wait i's taken you so long to trust and i can't even stay away from dawn to dusk creeping in the corners it's the shade that comes at night but i won't stay lonely you tear me up, spit in my face and rob me blind but i will stay faithful cause i don't know myself

The Sun goes up the sun goes down the fires Burn The dark return and I begin to see I've come this way I know this place I've seen your face I've seen your eyes I've come this way know this place I've seen myself In another time In the day my inner eye goes blind I've lost my mind In the dawn the sun comes up I wake to find a world without surprises I don't quite remember when I woke In the dawn the sun comes up In the dawn the sun comes up In the dawn the sun comes up In the dawn the sun comes up In the dawn the sun comes up I've come this way know this place I've seen myself In another time I've lost my mind

about

May Parameters:

Write a song that captures the essence of dawn 'til dusk in your own way. This could be done lyrically by, say, writing a poem about your city's transformation from day to night...or, perhaps recounting a particularly memorable/crazy day in your life...or, you might aspire to sonically capture morning, afternoon, evening, and nightfall with your instrument(s).
